How does physical therapy work?
Physical therapy uses many tools and techniques to improve your body’s mobility and function. Some of the treatments the FIX Medical Group team uses include:
Manual therapy
Manual therapy includes the hands-on techniques physical therapists use to reduce pain and improve range of motion. Manual therapy includes massage, stretching, and strengthening exercises.
Home exercise program
To maintain the gains you make during in-office physical therapy, the team gives you a home exercise program to do in-between visits.
K-Laser therapy
Your physical therapy can include laser therapy. The K-Laser is a high-powered laser tool that activates cellular activity to support the healing of injured or damaged tissue.
Dry needling
For patients with trigger points (muscle knots), the physical therapists can use dry needling to release the knot, reducing their pain and improving their range of motion.
Before making any treatment recommendations, your FIX Medical Group’s physical therapist does an initial assessment, evaluating your strengths and limitations and determining your goals. They use this information to create your personalized physical therapy plan.
