What is the K-Laser?
The K-Laser is a hand-held device that uses several wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to heal injuries. It sends out several wavelengths simultaneously, using one of its several delivery modes, including a pulsed or continuous wave of light.
Your provider chooses which wavelengths to use and the mode that’s best for your injury, customizing your treatment to provide the most pain relief and healing in the least amount of time.
During K-Laser treatment, the light travels through your skin, penetrating deep under the surface to reach cells in damaged tissues. The cells absorb these wavelengths, and once inside the cell, the light triggers cellular activity.
K-Laser treatment:
- Boosts energy production
- Relieves pain
- Increases cellular metabolism
- Improves circulation
- Reduces inflammation
- Strengthens immune function
- Stimulates nerve activity
- Produces new collagen, muscles, and other tissues
- Prevents scar formation
These cellular activities speed the natural healing process, helping you recover faster.
What conditions can K-Laser treat?
As K-Laser stimulates cells in your muscles, ligaments, tendons, nerves, and other soft tissues, it effectively treats musculoskeletal conditions, including:
- Arthritis
- Muscle pain and spasms
- Back, neck, and shoulder pain
- Foot and ankle pain
- Knee injuries
- Tendinitis
- Tennis elbow
- Myofascial pain
- Trigger points
- Plantar fasciitis
- Sprains and strains
- Herniated discs
- Degenerative disc disease
- Sciatica
K-Laser treatment is safe enough for nearly every part of your body, especially when delivered by the experienced FIX Medical Group team.
What should I expect during K-Laser treatment?
During your session, your provider holds the K-Laser device, placing it against your skin above the injured tissues. The device sends out light waves. You may feel mild warmth or a slight tingling sensation, but the treatment is never painful.
The number of treatments you need will depend on your injury and where and how severe it is. Many people feel the difference after one or two sessions. But the effect builds up and improves with each additional K-Laser treatment.
As a general guideline, you should have K-Laser treatments twice a week for 3-4 weeks. Acute conditions typically need about six sessions, while chronic or severe conditions often need 12 sessions.
